Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data MJBlount Web Design collects, why it is collected, how long it is kept and what rights you have over it. It covers this website only.
Who is responsible
Matt Blount, trading as MJBlount Web Design, is the data controller for information collected through this site. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, email hello@mjblount.com.
What is collected
When you use the contact form
The form asks for:
- Name and email address — required, so I can reply.
- Business name, project type and budget — optional context about the enquiry.
- Your message — whatever you choose to tell me.
The form also contains a hidden field that real visitors never fill in. It exists only to catch automated spam, and its contents are discarded.
When you browse the site
If — and only if — you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 records anonymised information about your visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. If you reject cookies, or make no choice, no analytics are loaded and none of this is collected. The cookie policy lists exactly what is stored.
Why it is collected, and the lawful basis

Who else sees it
Your data is never sold, and never shared for advertising. It is processed by a small number of suppliers who host or transmit it on my behalf:
- Vercel — hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Sanity — stores the content of this site, and stores enquiries submitted through the contact form.
- Resend — sends the notification email to me and the confirmation email to you.
- Google Analytics — analytics, only where you have accepted cookies.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
- Enquiries are kept for as long as there is a realistic prospect of working together, and for up to two years afterwards so I have a record of what was discussed. Ask and they will be deleted sooner.
- Project records for clients are kept for six years after the final invoice, which is the period UK tax rules require.
- Analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics retention setting, which is a maximum of 14 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what personal data I hold about you, and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, where there is no overriding reason to keep it;
- object to, or ask me to restrict, how your data is used;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent for analytics at any time, via the cookie policy page.

Complaints
If you think your data has been handled improperly, please raise it with me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain directly to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page is updated.
